Throughout the years, Google has integrated numerous features that transform Photos into a creative platform, such as Magic Eraser and Photo Unblur for quick modifications, Recap reels that showcase your memorable moments, and intelligent search functionality to easily locate individuals and locations. Now, the newest Android update introduces custom sticker creation, a feature that iPhone users have enjoyed for several months.

You can now create stickers from your own images directly within Google Photos on Android, as reported by 9to5Google. This feature automatically appears in the app. When you access a compatible photo, the AI detects the main subject and applies a gentle glow around it. This indicates that the image is prepared for sticker creation.

When the glow appears, simply tap the subject to begin. The AI will extract the object from the background. Typically, the cutout appears clean, even with challenging edges such as fur or unruly hair.

Next, you’ll view a preview of your sticker along with a “Copy sticker” button. This process feels significantly smoother compared to the previous manual cropping method. As the stickers are saved in PNG format with transparent backgrounds, you can utilize them in your preferred messaging applications, such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or Google Messages without any white edges. Simply launch Gboard, tap the sticker icon, and your unique stickers are ready for use.

Although the AI performs well, it isn’t flawless. Currently, you cannot brush in or erase parts if the AI overlooks something, so you must accept its initial attempt. If a photo is excessively cluttered or the illumination is dull, the glow will not appear as the AI lacks the confidence to isolate the subject.

Wi-Fi 8 compatibility in smartphones and other consumer devices is merely the initial phase. Routers capable of supporting Wi-Fi 8 connectivity will be essential in households, workplaces, and public venues to provide the speed and range enhancements Qualcomm discussed. Qualcomm has not released a detailed schedule for the FastConnect 8800 launch, but the company conveyed that the FastConnect 8800 and other Wi-Fi 8 chips are currently under customer testing, with commercial availability anticipated in late 2026. The FastConnect 7800 chip, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and UWB, is included in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra flagship that Samsung launched last year. A few days ago, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S26 series.
